Rodinia Freight Services is an experienced, reliable and flexible sea freight agent. Our sea cargo services offer a one-stop solution, including: freight forwarding, storage, cargo handling and final shipment from the sea freight carrier.

Our door to door, or port to port services are available for export, or import. Groupage, or full containers are welcome, we can organise container purchase and meet your needs for items exceeding standard container size. These are known as out of gauge, a requirement often managed with flat rack, or open top-containers, or a unique solution. With ample experience and equipment to handle any size, we will be pleased to assist.

OOG/BBK Cargo

Cargo that cannot be loaded in a general container due to its over dimensions (height, width, and length) or weight is called Out Of Gauge (OOG) cargo. This type of cargo is transported in an open top container or flat rack container.

Break Bulk (BBK) Cargo is any type of freight that cannot be containerized and must be loaded and unloaded individually. This type of cargo is often too large or oddly shaped to fit into a standard shipping container, so it must be loaded directly onto the vessel. Break bulk cargo must be securely lashed down to prevent it from shifting during transit and causing damage to the vessel or other cargo. Break Bulk cargo includes things like yachts, masts, industrial machines or train carriages.

All Breakbulk (BB) or Heavy-Lift (HL) shipments use a multimodal transport solution with a combination of land, sea, and air using Breakbulk, RORO, and/or Container vessels, Barges, Railroads, Trucks, and Aircraft. Virtually all Project Cargo shipments are considered Out of Gauge (OOG); therefore, we will analyse your options for the transport of the cargo depending on the various sizes and weights of each piece.

We have relationships with worldwide Breakbulk, RORO, and Container carriers and offer full or partial charters for Breakbulk cargo. Rodinia Freight can also arrange for Marine Survey/Inspection Report, project planning and support, site surveys and cargo analysis, and job-site delivery. Groupage (BCN)

Buyer’s consoles, or buyer’s consolidations, are primarily used to reduce costs for shippers when they are handling cargo from multiple suppliers at roughly the same time – usually within a period of a few weeks or a month.

The process of consolidation allows shippers to increase their load factor and reduce overall shipping costs, when compared multiple LCL (less-than-container load) or FCL (full-container-load) shipments.
